The Honorable James A. Baker, III, had the honor to give the keynote address at a celebration of what would have been President Ronald Reagan’s 100th birthday. The nation’s 40th commander in chief “made us all proud to be Americans,” he noted.

Baker, who is the honorary chair and namesake for the Baker Institute, served as the 67th secretary of the treasury and as White House chief of staff to President Reagan.

“He helped us rediscover who we were, he reminded us of our history and he challenged us to have big dreams about where we were going,” Baker said. “When all is said and done, that may be his greatest legacy.”
