Ron Prosor, Israel’s 16th permanent representative to the United Nations, recently spoke at the Baker Institute on what’s next in the Middle East.
With more than two decades of experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prosor is one of Israel’s most distinguished diplomats. He previously served as Israel’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and the director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, overseeing the work of the ministry during the disengagement from Gaza in 2005. His overseas service has also included roles in Washington, London and Bonn. As an officer in the Artillery Division of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Prosor attained the rank of major; he is also a graduate of the IDF battalion commanders.
He holds a master’s degree in political science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he graduated with distinction.
