Ruchir Shah, president of the Baker Institute Student Forum, authored a blog post yesterday encouraging U.S. policymakers to shift their focus from offshore accidents and spill prevention toward safety regulations and inspections. Compared to European offshore drilling projects, he writes, the United States averaged more deaths and injuries proportionally.
Shah, who appears as a guest blogger for energy fellow Amy Myers Jaffe, recently completed an independent study course on U.S. energy policy.
