Mr. Baker throws his support behind a New START

James A. Baker, III, former U.S. secretary of state and honorary chair of the Baker Institute, met today with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden, as well as current and former officials from both sides of the aisle, to push for Senate ratification of the New START treaty before the year is over. The president stressed the importance of bipartisan support for the arms reduction treaty, which he called “a national security imperative.”
