Tune in for a webcast with former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson Jr. is speaking at the Baker Institute this evening about his role in helping the nation weather the beginning of the current financial crisis.

The event is full, and no seats are available. But you can still watch online via a live webcast beginning at 6 p.m.

Please note that this webcast will NOT be archived, so if you want to listen in on the event, this is your only chance.

Paulson’s visit, which is part of the Shell Distinguished Lecture Series, will feature a conversation between Paulson and John W. Diamond, the Edward A. and Hermena Hancock Kelly Fellow in Public Finance at the Baker Institute.

Paulson will discuss his new book, “On the Brink,” in which he talks about the decisions made to prevent financial collapse. When Paulson was appointed in 2006 as the nation’s secretary of the treasury, he had no idea that he would find himself grappling with the world’s most cataclysmic financial crisis since the Great Depression. In his book, he recounts how he addressed urgent market conditions, weighed critical decisions, and debated policy and economic considerations with key figures in the financial crisis, including Wall Street CEOs, Ben Bernanke, Timothy Geithner, Sheila Bair, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain, and then-President George W. Bush.
