The Berlin Wall: Come to a 20-Year Reunion

This Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, the Baker Institute will host a historic panel discussion with the foreign ministers who helped establish a foundation for a unified Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

“German Unification: Expectations and Outcomes” panel participants include:

The Honorable James A. Baker III, former U.S. secretary of state

• The Honorable Roland Dumas, former foreign minister of the French Republic

• The Honorable Hans-Dietrich Genscher, former foreign minister of West Germany

• The Honorable Markus Meckel, former foreign minister of East Germany

• The Right Honorable Charles Powell, private secretary to Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and John Major

• The Honorable Eduard Shevardnadze, former minister of foreign affairs, Soviet Union, and former president of Georgia
